A sudden misfortune vrhile
on the way to Lexington,
N, C,, caused Coach Burley
Dunn to make a quick ex
change of cars at a car
lot in High Point,
A bumed-out bearing in
his •3l|. Chevrolet forced
Coach Dunn to stop in
High Point, N. C., at a
used car lot, v^here he
made an exchange from the
Chevrolet he was driving
to a *39 Mercury so that
he could continue on his
way to visit his sister in
Lexington.
This, of course, is
Dunn’s version; but our
belief is that since this
is his first year of
teaching, his checks may
have caused him to get a
sudden yearning for an ex
change of cars or maybe a
desire to have a car that
might possess the quality
of the go Mercury-Speed,

Boys Acqure New Suits
New suits of school
colors that the boys will
wear in their first game
this year against Spring
Hope on December 8, may
prove to be the spurt need
ed to win the game.
The squad has been cut
down to twelve players.
These are Theron Sanders,
guard; Charles Williams,
forward; Ed Pace, center;
Gene Finch, forward; Owen
Strickland, guard; Eldred
Perry, center and forward;
Percy Jr. Murray, guard;
Ray Jones Jordan, guard;
Rudolph Manning, forward;
Lamar Finch, forward;
James Paul Stott, center
and forward; and Wiley
Williamson, forward.

Last night marked the
ending of the 19^0 class
tournament -which opened on
November lU,
The contest began with
the senior boys playing
the fresliman boys the
fourth period. On Nov
ember 16 the junior girls
played the sophomore girls
the first period. The
junior and sophumoi'e boys
clashed the fifth period,
November 17, Finally on
November 20 at the sixth
period the freshmen and
senior girls met.
The finals, determining
the vfinning teams, were
played last night, the
girls playing at 7:30 p.m.
and the boys at 8:30,
The purpose of the class
tournament is to help the
coaches determine the most
skillful playef’s under a
real situation and to give
more play experience to
the team.
Winning teams were given
a trophy to be held until
next year.
