Cornelius Boykin. "Any
time I ask Cornelius to do
something he does it will
ingly and co-operatively,
but he needs to' develop
more initiative," llrs.
Farmer further remarks.
Tnfith his clig’^i’ty and po
liteness, Cornelius, or
Corney as he is better
knovm by his many friends,
has won the admiration of
students and teachers
alike. So great was the
admiration for him that
when he fell and cut the
veins of his wrist, grief
sT/ept over the entire high
school, Cornelius hopes
to recbver from this acci
dent soon so that he will
be able to play basket
ball when the' county con
ference opens.
To begin his high school
career, Corney received an
honor that doesn't come to
just any boy—escort for
one of tRe Miss Bugle con
testants .
IThen asked what he looked
for most in a girl, Corney’
solemnly replied, "HonestyV'
He declares math is his
favorite subject, and Miss
Svirprisingly,

Punctual, well-mannered,
polite, ambitious, jolly,
dependable—these are qual
ities that make the
seniors proud of tlieir
president, Jimmy Jones.
Although Jimmy is a bass
singer in glee club, an
active church member, a
member of the church choir,
and has been president of
his class since the sev
enth grade, he still has
time for an 'interesting
hobby, hunting.
"I’m not looking for her
yet," says Jimmy, "but a
typical mate for me must
be kind, gentle, lovable,
jolly, and easy to get
along vdth."
Everyone in high school
lists Ji:Tuiiy as an adiaired
friend and v/ishcjs him suc
cess in his' planned busi
ness career. Lois Thigpen
Edith Farmer, teacher,
says that Cornelius is an
above-average student. She
also states that he is
superior to' other students
in manners, conduct, aud
thoughtful’^ess; and that
he is not easily .led
astray by a gan?:.
In the eyes of the stu
dents and teachcrs, Corney
is a model that other stu
dents ‘ cduld well -pattern

emn, meek attitude lies
that feature everyone ad
mires, dependability.
Art is this junior's hob
by. Since she is so skill
ed in her artistic work,
we are not surprised that
home economics ranks first
among her most-liked sub
jects, or that sewing
holds second position in
her ' most-enjoyed past
time,
Eunice rated honor roll
grades last month v;hich
fact is indicative of an
other asset' of hers, a
good student.

for English III, "I experi
enced nQT happiest moment
when I received a score of
75 on a dravang I copied
from an advertisement in
viting- 'Draw me'." Eunice
was given two free art
lessons from the Art In
struction Corporation be
cause of her grade.
After being asked what
trait she most admired in
a person, Eunice commented,.
"I like a person who will
give up some of his own
pleasures to make others
happy, one who is con
siderate of others, and
one vfho is unselfish."
Her responsibility again
reveals itself as she as
