Dunn, a boys' baseball team, . JUNIOR TEAIiS The junior teams, com posed of students from the seventh through the ninth grades, have made accredit- able shovj-ings this year. Finishing the season, the boys' team was tops over the other teams in the county. Middlesex and Spring Hope were second and third, respectively. Bailey played eight games, losing only two. High scorers viere Carrol Jones with 77 points, Wiley V/illiarason with 66 points, and Cornelius Boykin with 50 points. Jones alone made 3U points in one game. Ratings of the girls' teams were Middlesex, first; Bailey, second; and Spring Hope, third. High scorers for the Bailey team were Billie Faye Perry, Janice Edwards, and Shirley ViTilliams with 77, i^O, and 38 points, CHEERLEADERS Stimulating the pep spirit at all the games, the cheerleaders and their sponsor. TOURNAMENT Bailey's standing in the annual tournament is not known as the Bugle goes to press, Magan Leads Bailey Scoringj Boys Win Jane Morgan,'the Hornet's point-making senior, canned 23 points during the game at Benvenue, Jan uary 30. Ruth Griffin was high scorer for the winning team with 39 points. Mildred Manning was the Hornet's top defensive star. Taking a different trend, Coach Dunn's Cagers de feated the Benvenue boys 35-30. High scorer for the oppos ing team was V/inborne with 9 points, Jan Perry played outstand ing defensive ball for Bai ley and Evelyn Bunn for Rock Ridge. Following the girls' pat tern, the Hornet boys sacked up i|.8 points to top Rock Ridge'a 39. Charles Williams, Ovren Strickland, and Theron Sanders were high scorers with 13, 11^ and 11 points respectively, Ed Pace Viras defensive star.
