Bailey Bugle, Bailey, North Carolina February, 1951 Page 5 Girls yUinFive Games Lose Two Third Groders Report II Perfect Attendance Out of the seven games the eighth grade girls have played this ’season, they have won five and lost two. The two defeats of the ^ team were at the hands of the ninth gradej however, the third time the team played the ninth grade they won. Members of the team are Billie Faye Perry, Shirley Williams, Janice Edwards, Arbadella Davis, Carolyn Finch, Betty Lou Stallings, forwards; Sue Bunn, Shelby Jean Williamson, Wanda High, Pattie Sue Thompson, Shelby Jean Eatmon, Betty Lou Brown^ and Marlene Eatmon, guards. Several of these girls are also on the Junior Basketball team Quotes Miss Idalia Ogles by, teacher, "Vile are proud of our girls' basketball team and we think that the Bailey fans have a treat in store when these girls get in high school and be gin to play on the varsity ball team." "Since the class had had such a struggle with spell ing. it was considered quite an accomplislmient when two-thirds of the class made one liundred on a spelling test," toiss’ Sessoms reported. Teachers Select Books For Elem. Grades New books have been selected by the elementary teachers for each room. Each teacher is alloted !j*>l6 to buy wanted books.
