Bailey Bugle, Bailey, North Carolina, March, 19^1 Library Becomes Center of Interest Ifj as many teachers and librarians believe, the li brary should’be the center of school interest, then Bailey's library is taking steps to become such a cen ter by the student-appeal efforts, To emphasize McMurtry's Nature Creed, there is a display of out-of-door scenes posted within the writing of the creed. Large pictures of Vv'oodrow Vv'ilson, Martha Y«'ashingtonj and George ''.Tafchington have been hung above the book case used for reference books. Two flags, memorials from the classes of 19h3 and 19hS to the World YiTarll veterans, living and dead, hang on the east wall, LITERARY MAP The North Carolina Lit erary Map gives the names of the N. C. authors and the place of birth. Be neath the map are a number of books by these authors, POSTERS A poster inquiring, "Have you read these books?", acts as a reminder to the students to read the books on display in that section of the room. Page 5 Look your Slate Wolfpack Honors Polio fetient Cathy Stott, a former student of Bailey High, was given the title, "Sweetheart" of the State Wolfpack, Saturday night, February 2lt. Cathy, who has been a polio patient at Rex Hospi tal for more than two years, after being named "Sweetheart" of the State i/Tolfpack, was interviewed on the program. "Basket ball Party Line," over IrTOAO in Raleigh. ^During the half of the State-Georgetown game, Cathy, who was present, was introduced to the spec tators , Ml jsicleadiGrfoSi.ag© Festival April 25 Nash's county-wide music festival is scheduled April 25 in Nashville. Per formers will be the glee clubs from the county's eight high schools. Each glee club will pre sent one or two selections, each selection not to ex ceed seven minutes. Fifty performers are allowed each glee club. The Bailey glee club has as its selections Hunter's Horn by Fearis and Lord's f’rayer by ilalotte. As a conclusion, the eight high school glee clubs will sing together.
