Bailey Bugle, Bailey, North Carolina. March 3-951 page 8 An Autobioqraph y—^BY LOUISE VffiLLS~6th Grade On the twenty-second of August, 1939, a certain long-legged bird left a bundle at the home of ]iir, and I'Irs, John H, Y/ells. Upon making sure of the contents of the bundle, a little girl, and after ad miring her greatly, the parents gave the baby the name of Adrienne Louise Y^ells. Being the only grandchild, I was spoiled, petted, and pampered. The first year passed with usual baths, shots, and only one sickness, whooping cough, caught while making iry first trip with relatives in Kentucky and Ohio. At the age of three years several things happened to me. My tonsils were re moved, I made my ffirst appearance on the stage at school, and the birth of a grandson, my cousin, nov/ shared honors in my grand father's lap, a fact that made me quite jealous. All this time I lived at Moss Hill, but at the com ing of the war, my daddy went in the navy, so we moved in with ray grand parents. I was quite happy to move to Kinston, except my daddy was gone and I had to sell my playhouse, I took my first train ride to see daddy while he was in Florida. Here I saw my first real coconuts. When I was almost eight my family and I moved to Bailey, By now I had a little sister, Anne, I did not like the town because I knew no one, but after meeting several children and starting to school, I found it to be as nice as any place I had ever been, Ilamrrstilllggingjtb-SchQoll and enjoying it very much, V;hen I was in the fifth grade I received news that I had won a music contest. That same year I was sick. No one could tell me what odtor told me to have a tooth pulled. I did, and now 1 am all right. This year I am in lirs, J, P. Underv/ood *s i^sliijh grade, making fairly good grades and enjoying school was.the—matter. F.inany a more than ever.
