Bailey Bugle^ Ba3ley, North Carolina^ Aprils 1951 Page 11 School Displays Exhibits in Nashville Six teachers of this school sent materials to be exhibited at Nashville, where each school in the county was invited to par ticipate in a county-wide exhibit. Exhibits were arranged according to grades 'and subjects. Mrs. A. H. farmer exhib- ted drawings of Silas Idarner, a poster of a dia grammed sentence, shewing case, parts of speech com- pleinents and modifiers, a poster of words often mis pronounced, and two copies of the Bugle, Mrs. L. T. Lassiter's geography class was repre sented North Carolina booklets and maps made in coitunercial geography. Typing II work on display was a cross section of a budget and art typing from typing I were sent. Miss Edith Farmer exhib ited block cutting, geo metric designs and solids, figures used for party favors, an algebraic crossword puzzle with 97 words, and some graphs. From tlie science depart ment, M. V/. 7Ieaver sent drawings of Concave and convex lenses and mirrors. Mrs. J. P. Underwood sent original drawings of poems studied by the class, Richard Privette's Jungle picturej and European maps filled out from memory. Four biology charts con sisting of pictures of flowers, insects, animals, marine creatures, and plants were sent by Burley Dunn. Mrs. Frances Rouse, repre sentative for Bailey, took these exhibits to Nash ville. She also carried a flower garden from Mrs. Florabelle Bynum's class and a doll house from Mrs, Rudolph Glover's class, but was unable to put them on exhibit because the office at Nashville was closed. Miss Edith Farmer states that the English depart ments were represented more than any other depart-' ment in the county. S.
