Sagacious and outstand
ing, an honor roll student
with a perfect attendance
record, a member of the
basketball team—these ad
jectives and activities
could only be descriptive
of one oerson, Clara Lou
Stott, soohomore,
Clara Lou started out
with an exceotionally good
record, and now in the
tenth grade she has a per
fect attendance record so
far this year. She has
made honor roll every mon
th but one.
In her class she holds
the title of treasurer,
and she is parliamentarian
in the F. H, A,
Dabbling in paint proves
to be great enjoyment for
Clara. Her paintings indi
cate talent. Besides paint
ing she also collects re
cords.
This spring along with
five other members from
her English class, Clara
Lou entered a speaking con
test at Greenville, N. C.
To consume in part her
exuberant energy, Clara
has played for two years
on the Bailey High School
basketball team; this year
she was on the varsity.
All in all, Clara is the
type of nerson we seniors
will best remember after
we're gone. B, J. Tapp
Seniors ! For twelve years
the members of this class
have been steadily climb
ing to attain the goal of
senior-hood. For some the
climb has been somewhat of
a struggle, but a struggle
that is about to be master
ed.
I'feny will leave behind a
name and a record they
will be proud to own.
From among the group have
come some of the leaders
in the activities of the
school—glee club, basket
ball, baseball, journalism,
club work. Some have set
high scholastic records;
some have carved out paths
of self-discipline others
could well follow; some
have shouldered a part of
the work essential to the
carrying out of the school
program—cafeteria, lib
rary, supply room, office,
bus driving.
Others, though less act
ive, have, in their un
obtrusive manner, been
making their record too,
in some instances a record
no less important.
All will be missed; all
have the best wishes of
their schoolmates as they
go out into their "dream
world".
To each one, students and
teachers say—
"So long; it's been good
to know you".
Surely any high school
boy who can rise every
morning at ^:30 and deliv
er papers to 79 subscrib
ers and still be on time
for his first-.ieriod class
deserves praise. Gene
Finch does just this every
morning. He also helps his
father at the scrvice sta
tion evenings and week
ends.
This was Gene's third
year on the varsity basket
ball team, where he played
forward and came out sec
ond high scorer for the
past basketball season.
Gene also plays left field
on the high school base
ball team.
As a member of the Boy
Scouts for two years and
the F,F,A. Club three
years, certainly proves
Gene's interest in worth
while club work. Gene is
also a member of the
church choir.
Of all his activities
Gene puts studying first.
This is probably why he
has made honor roll every
month but one this year.
Fun-loving Gene is always
dressed in the latest fash
ion including sometimes
wine pants and a bright
yellow jacket.
As of now Gene hasn't de
cided exactly what he
wants to do when he
finished school.
Here's hoping he'll be as
successful as ever. L. T,
