Paying a visit to the school this month, Bobby Lamm, last year's Bugle editor, complimented the journalism class on their work and gave suggestions on improvii|g the paper. Anna Leighn Johnson has P.aROT.TNA, JANUARY IS.^.2 Librarian Undertakes Character Building In TheTyping Class In learning to type, as in everyday life, one should learn to control his emotions. No employer will hire a typist who cannot control his temper. Typing involves difficul ties just as life does. The typist has to be pre pared to face each of tliese problems instead of trying to dodge them. He must be a good thinker. Excuses like "I can't type sitting, beside a certain person". "He is so fast I get all mixed up." "This typewriter is no good," and "I am too tired to type". The typist's Employ er T.'on't have any sympathy for such excuses, neither will his typing instructor. Emotional controls as accuracy, responsibility, and dependability are traits every student must develop before he becomes a good typist. her engagement ring from "Fine " ’’.'illiams on. Perry HONOR R.OLL PAGE 2 fDany Projects Repairing v/orn books, dis carding old ones, acquir ing new dictionary, and moving library desk into studj^'hall are a few of the nanj'’ projects taking place in the library this month. About 100 books have been repaired to date and approximately 75 more need some repair v;ork. New pock ets, cards, date due slips, pasting in loose leaves, and taping wiorn covers make the books more"attrac tive and easier to read," Miss Idalie Oglesby, li brarian, states, "I am proud of our new diction ary and would like to ask the students to take good care of it." Recently, it was neces sary for the desk in the library to be moved into the studyhall so ’that only one person would be in the library at a time. Quotes I.iss Oglesby, "The change seems to be vj-orking." Illness Increases Absentees Claiming the greater toll of absentees last month were colds and appendicitis. Jackie Bragg underwent an appendectomy December 20. The Christmas spirit was broken for Ann Earp whose appendix was removed on December 2i|. Jimmy Lamm's appendix was taken out December 25. i'l^ie Bailey, Bertha Bass and Virginia Liles have been absent because of colds. On January 8, Ruby Bailey joined the list of those Shaving their appendix re- moved.
