A. meeting earlier this month, a program v;as presented em phasizing manners at church, on the street, in shoos, in the lunchroom, at school, and at ball games. Judy Lamm, Ann Med- lin and Romaine Thigpen prepared the program. A complete report was made of "Sock-Hop" pro ceeds. Shirley Creech was elect ed as the chapter candi date to run for secretary. She will compete with a Louisburg candidate for the office of Bi-County secretary at the March Bi- County Rally. Refreshments, Valentine cookies and green lemonade, were served by the third period class. Have you seen the tenth grade girls cariying around rag dolls that need to get tanned or freckled? One day a teacher told her class to write an es say on "Income Tax". A small boy taxed his brain to the utmost and at length he wrote the fol lowing : "I have a dog, his name is Tax. I opened the door, and income Tax." (Found in Miss V/ilson's "date book".) Creech To Run For Bi"Gounty Office Shirley Creech, Bailey's nominee to comoete for sec retary at a Bi-County Ral ly at-Franklinton, March 1, was chosen by the F. H. A» Chapter earlier this month. Only one other candidate vdll be trying for this po sition. Each year a banner is pre sented to the school from either Franklin or Nash counties with the largest per cent present, based on the number enrolled in each club. At the present, Middlesex homemakers are holding this award. Approximately 150 teen agers from Wilson, Nash, and Wake counties attended the "Sock Hop" sponsored by the Bailey Future Home makers in the gymnasium, February 13. Admission fees amounted to Of this, ^iiO was paid to .Jack Farmer and his band for the music they rendered. Four dollars covered all other expenses.
