While the final stages of the paper does lie with the staff, there could be no paper without the support of advertisers, subscribers, typists, students, parents, and friends of the school. To each of these may we take this opportunity to say "Thank-you" for helping us achieve the honor of Medalist rating and to take the Washington trip. Every Success To The Bailey Dews i Up until the eventful date, _May 2, 19^2, the Bai ley Bugle was Bailey's only medium of news. On that date, the first issue of The Bailey News was printed, Bailey’s first real newspaper. The Bugle wishes to extend its heartiest congrat ulations and best wishes for the success of this new enterprise. It has been questioned whether The Bailey News would hurt the school paper. The Bugle staff thinks not. We feel there is a need and a place for both. Anything that brings progress to the community brings just that much progress to the school. How To Get Whet You Want Out Of Life Jfy garden is a beautiful dream With roses blooming red and white; The posies are little faces that shine With the gayest of human delight. The flowers smile up at the sun And wave as the wind passes through. They welcome every drop of rain And drink each drop of dew. As I stand in ray garden of flowers And watch them wave and nod, I am thankful for each little flower That blooms as a gift from God. How does one go about get ting what he wants out of life? 'Lassiter you have, everything that you possess, and all that is in you. Think about xifhat you have to give to life. Everyone has some physical, emotional, and spiritual gifts. The cor rect use of these will cause life to yield to any one, including you. Have you ever heard Ad miral Ernest J, King's statement that was made in the days when the re sources of the Navy were inadequate? He sinply said, "Do the best you can with what you've got". Don't whine and make ex cuse sj just use what you*ve got and you’ll surely be a success. R«T. Shirley Webb Between The Covers As soon as school is out, let's all grab the oppor tunity to get ahead with our reading. It is fun to read light material while traveling or sitting in the shade at the beach. Magazines are perfect en tertainment for travel, but only the best are worth the time. Reader's Digest, Comet, Saturday Evening Post, Life, Look, and Time are a few good ones. These, too, are good to read while on vacation. More serious reading may be desired by some. One may like to read books he has seen portrayed in movies: Lorna Doond, Jane Eyre, Little Women, and others. Remember that the perfect graduation gift is the per fect book—The BIBLE. Every public library is a storehouse of knowledge and opportunity. May the readers of this column . meet often in the town's public library this summer. Eunioe Perry
