Five fill vacancies left from last year; one is an additional faculty member gained in the elementary school. BEN yJETHINGTOK, coach, and the only new face in high school, comes from Kenly .vjith a record of four years in coaching, ELEMENTARY Three elementary teachers were needed this year* mss EMOGENE TURNER of Wilson and a graduate of Atlantic Christian College^ class of 1952, begins her first exD'erience as a teacher. JIISS TURNER is the -extra teacher Bailey gaindd. She teaches the seventh and eighth grades, • Returning to- the Bailey classroom-after an absence of six years, MS. SARAH S. MA.Y, has the fifth and sixth grade combination. She replaces MRS. DORIS H. PARKER. MRS. E. H. PASCHALL, a resident of Wilson, is teaching the fourth grade. She is also an A. 0. gradu ate and has been teaching at Wilson for four years. She fills the vacancy left by the resignation of MRS. M. W. 11EAVER. PRIMARY MISS ALICE HARDY and MRS. EMMA M. GUNTER are the two new teachers for the pri mary grades. MISS HARDY attended Madison Harrison- bviry College and later Carolina for one year. She is from Amelia, Virginia, and teaches the third 4-H Club Meets; Elects O.tii’cers Election of officers' for the iL952-53 ■ year lighted the senior club meeting this month, MACK BURGESS elected pres ident; ROmiNE THIGPEN, vice-oresidentj HENRY BRANTLEY, secretary; CAROLYN.FINCH and CHALMAS BOYKIN, song leaders; and MISS FRANCIS fflLSON, ad visor will direct the work outlined for the club year. All members were notified that record books are due October 1, grade, MISS HARDY replaces MISS MYRTLE SESS0M5. The last new teacher, MRS. Eim M. GUNTER, teach es the third and fourth combination. The commercial depart ment is open to juniors and seniors only. Thirty-two students are taking Typing I. They are divided into two classes^ as the department has 22 machines Returning for a second year in typing are 21 stu dents. Fifteen seniors are using a new book, WORLD GEOGRAPHY by Bradley, in their study of geography this year. "Not having had any geography since the elementary grades, the students knowledge of geography is limited," states the instructor.
