VJITH UlCLE SAM Three seniors decided they couldn’t fight enough at home and joined the Air Force and Navy. C. D. MULLEN and GENE FINCH are in the Air Force. GENE is stationed at Lackland Air Base, and PERCY JUIHOR MURR'^Y is in the Navy, stationed now in Cali fornia. AT HOME "Homing pigeons" of the clasH of 1952 are CATHE RINE BROW, KAY FERRELL, ERNEST GRIFFIN, JACKIE LAiffl, EARL MANNING, RUTH ’■'flLLIAMS, imRG'iRET GLOVER (Mrs. Bobby Ferrell), ELDA ME BAILEY and VIEGINIA LILES. DORIS JOYNER has returned to school. She is serving c as editor of the Bailey News and working with the journalism class. OTHER ALUI4NI CHARLES STOTT and his ' English bride, RENfiE, arrived in town in August, They came by boat to New York and flew to Raleigh, . After their visit is com plete, they plan to move to Greenville, South Caro lina, where CHARLES is stationed, KIETH and BONNIE PHILLIPS arrived in Bailey from Minersville, Pennsylvania, the first of July and were followed by CHARLES D. JR., M;\RI, and CE'IRLES D. Ill, .better known as PHIL, who moved from Washington, D.C. The two Phillips boys were employed by the A & P Com pany before they came to Bailey to begin working with their father, C. D. PHIEUBS... MRS. CMRLSS JR. hails from %rtle Beach, South Carolina, and BONNIE is from Minersville, Penn sylvania. TEACHERS In the teaching pro fession for the first time are E\/ELYN POOLE, former editor of The Bugle, teach ing English and journalism in Martinsville, Virginia; BETH BISSETTE, teaching English at YiTest Edgecombe PAGE 7 - - RENA BISSETTE High S&hocl; BETTY D0RIS.5 SANDERS, teaching science in Bunn; and LOIS RAE PACE, teaching in Clayton. REPORTER OCTA VIA BEARD, a former student of journalism at Bailey recently graduated in journalism at the Uni versity of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and is now a member of the newspaper staff in ViTarsaw. COLLEGE STUDENTS College students this year are sophomores JIMiJZ JOl'JES of Atlantic Chris tian College, MILDRED MAN NING and CHARLES VaLLIAffi of East Carolina, CLAYTON BROCK and RICHARD ETH ERIDGE of Carolina Uni versity, JANE MORGAN 6f Duke University, RUTH PHILLIPS of Woman's Col lege, and THERON SANDERS of State. LEO HORNER is a junior at East Carolina and ANNALEIGHN JOHNSON, a for mer student of E. C. C., attended summer school and is now a junior at Atlan tic Christian. Seniors are ViTILLIARD FINCH and AL ¥ILLIA1S of East Carolina, BEN ETHE RIDGE of Carolina Univer sity, and RUTH FARllER of W. C. U. N. C. MLLIaRD MORGAN JR. is a senior at Georgia Tech. In order to graduate, he be came a member of Advanced Aviation R. 0. T. C. ajid will finish as a second lieutenant.
