Acting ■ in behalf o'f \ the P.T.A, the executive com mittee of the organization decided to use all but Sj^lOO of the funds in the treasury for helping to buy needed equipement for the new cafeteria. At the last meeting of the P.T.A* members voted to so use the money and in structed the president to appoint a committee em powered to act for the association in deciding upon the amount to be alloted from the treasury. The president appointed the executive committee to serve in this capacity* ALLOCATION At a meeting last week the committee decided that after all debts had been cleared to allocate the re mainder of the funds above |ilOO to the cafeteria. Needed equipment calls for around ^i;,000. At the prifeseht'-it appears that ^3j000 of this amount is in sight. The county, the P,T,A,, and the lunch room vfill each pay approxi mately one-third of this amount. Composing the committee were Mrs, Julian Finch, Mrs, Jasper Finch, Mrs, Dan Christian, M,W. Weaver, Mrs, Effie Hagwood, Mrs, J,P, Underwood, Mrs. T.C, May, Mrs, R.G.L, Edwards, Miss Edith Farmer, and Mrs, Rudolph Glover. SENIORS' DECIDE ON GO^'JNS The senior class has se lected maroon caps and gowns for the boys and, for the girls, white with maroon and white tassels. fibseites Hurt ChuncGS ,uf Extro Teacher Because of the large num ber of absentees each day Bailey may lose its extra teachers for next year that its present enroll ment would warrant. With an enrollment of 399 in the grades and 192 in high school, each depart ment stands to rate an additional teacher pro vided the average attend ance is good. RECjUIRED RECORD In this connection M. W. Weaver, principal, states that the absences must not average'"'over 17 per day if we are to get these teach ers."^ At present the average daily number of absences far exceeds this 17 figure. The school hopes that students and parents will do all they can to cut down on absences.
