F'^BrUARY. 1953 Tollewyork Goes Bugle Stoff Grades In sn effort to improve 'the BUGLT', the staff and advisors v/ill be attending the three-day COLUMBIA SCIDL.3TIC F?.E33 COMVLN- TICi'T in Hew York . next month. The trip vdll be financed in part by the BUGLE funds. The' rroup vfill leave Bsiley by cars March 10. They v/ill spend their first night' in Vfashington. The trip is being under taken for instructional purposes, as an award for work done, and for cul tural gains. CUSS KELPS FINANCE TRIP By selling BUGLE ads and subs criptions, autograph books, and school emblems, the class had raised enough money to help fi nance the trip in part. A complete schedule for each day's v;ork and enter tainment hrs been planned. The first day the travel ers ¥/ill visit Mount Ver non, and the Capitol, the Library of Congress, and any other places in V/ash- in^^ton thct tirne permits. G.S.P.A. MEETING Principal features of the three-day’ stay in Neijy York will be attending clinics and lectures at Columbia University. Prior to the beginning of the con vention will be £ four- hour lecture tour of New York City. After a banquet at the Vfaldorf-Astoria Hotel, Saturday, the group will stage a shopping tour of the larpe stores. A majority of the stu dents made poor grades on English vrark. One student stated, '.'English takes study and many of the' stu dents are not willing to put forth' the effort."
