RATLEY BUGLE, BAILEY, .NQxTH CAROLm. fmUARY. .19,^3 PkGK.^. rrincip^il Report!f)g . ... .".I. m. w. v/eaver Monday, February 9., turn ed out to be the long awaited day in the Bailey School. A new lunchroom had been talked for years, planned for months, and worked on for weeks. We moved in on the above named date. Everyone was elated over it. The lunch room .workers now have a spaciousj well equipped kitchen. The pantry is near by. There will be no more carrying materials up and dovm stairs and through the long upstairs hall. The dishwasher makes the work much easier. The students enjoy their meals more in the colorful surroundings. They have plenty of room while eat ing. There is a more home like atmosphere with tables and chairs, They do not have to go upstairs to get to the new lunchroom. The breezeway protects them from the rain. RESULTS OF CHANGE The teachers have enjoyed the change as much as the students have. It seems that the food just tastes better in the new surround- in!^a. A big help for every one is the fact that the noise in the upstairs hall because of the lunchroom traffic is eliminated. Too, the auditorium will be free from noises coming from the old lunchroom. Everyone stands to profit from this much needed, 1 ong -aivai ted i mpr ove me nt. Let's show our appre ciation by using it and by taking the best care pos sible of the building and equipment, Our special thanks go to the P.T,A. for their $1195*00 check which was applied on the equipment. Without this help, some much needed equipment 7iTould have been left off because of lack of funds. ’tVe wish to say "Thank You", also, to Ivir, Inscoe, the County Boards of Education and Commissioners, the local School Board, and to everyone else vfho made the new building possible. Present plans call for turning the old lunchroom space back into a balcony for the auditorium. We can seat our entire student body and also take care of the overflow crowds attend ing some of oviT programs, HOME EC. DEPT. Miss V'ilson and her Home Ec. girls will move into their new department as soon as fhe chairs and tables arrive. This will free a classroom upstairs for future growth. Attend ance during the first five months gives us an ad ditional high school teacher for next year. Let's keep the record up and get that teacher.
