Teacher magazine gives
some interesting points of
view. The parents were ask
ed to answer this question:
"What fine qualities would
you say are most important
in a good teacher?"

to give the five qualities
they thought parents

The top five were:

2. Firmness
3. Patience

Note that fairness and
patience were put in both
lists.
RATING
If you are a teacher,
take the list submitted by
the parents and rate your
self. The only one of six
traits which applies
strictly to teaching is
the last, "Teaching skill,
knowledge, and training."
As you study the first
five characteristics, you
probably get the same
reason why some people say
that teachers are born
and not made. We, as teach
ers, need to improve every
trait that will make us
better teachers.

night. Most any night one
can see boys of almost any
age above eight roaming
around up town, at the gym,
or around the service
stations. We do not
believe that too much free
dom for the school age boy
is good for him.
