Betweon The Covers PAGE.-ia, Tenth Grade Secures Fries For Chapel Program -by- ^ £'.fou^a, Spring has been declared officiall.7 by the seniors of our school by beginning a study of {?reat poets and their poems . Yfilliam V/ords- worth, the English nature poet, Robert Burns, the Scottish nature poet v/ho sprinkles his verses vdth T/ords of v/isdom, and nume rous others have helped us to tip our hats and to welcome spring v^ith all her golden-green beauty. "Lines V/ritten in Early Spring" and "The Tables Turned" are poems that have made us have a feel ing of appreciation for the 'beauties of "God's World," "The Tables Turned" vfas especially liked by our group because it v/as a poem inviting us to throw av;ay our books and let nature be our teacher. I think in maixy cases this poem "hit close to home" because vrith such beauti ful weather, it's hard to keep one's mind on the dull TJhite pages of a book. "Lines '^'ritten in Early Spring" is a poem that describes . a v/alk in a meadow and the way nature can make a man forget his v/orries and just feel good all over. Reading poetry is a good way to catch the spring mood. If you don’t believe it, try it. Enjoyment found tlirough having a hobby'was demon strated by C. H. Fries showed and played mar^r different sizes of harmonicas. Besides giv ing musical numbers, he illustrated tricks and told stories. SophomorGS Hove PartiGs At Park On March 20, Ben Wetliing- ton's tenth grade held a v/iener roast at the ITilson > Park, The students used the playground equipment for their recreation. After the wiener roast part of the students went to see a uoviej the others returned home. Roasted wieners, marsh mallows, and drinks com posed the menu of Miss Idalia Oglesby’s tenth grade's party March 31^ at the Yfilson Park. After the wiener roast they went to see a movie.
