BATT,F,Y RATLKY.^.Mffi.TH.JIAROL' Fashions And reds TMA., A?RTT.^.1.g53- Let’s raise our heads above this glorious mist of spring fever and view some spring fashions. SPRING STYLES Several characteristics that we find in the season's styles are sleeve less dresses and blouses, contour belts, tight or very flared dress skirts, and scooped, or halter necklines. The illustrated dress has a contour belt that gives the effect of a Jerkin, sliming the waist and emphasizing the hip- line . A VARIETY OF PANTS The female group wasn't satisfied with just swip ing trousers from the men,* they have changed the style of pants to all forms and shapes I Among these styles are culottes; clam-diggcrs, pedal- pushers, BERMUDA shorts, slack£^ MATADOR slacks, dungarees, and riding pants, plus many more. Their lengths vary con siderably. The town or country daughter may take her pick of these styles and be perfectly at home on the farm, in the home , or on the beach. Today trousers are tailored to be worn any where, at any time, OUTSTANDING STUDENTS WANDA HIGH shows good taste in selecting clothes. Her ever— neat appearance and sensible color com binations stamp her as fashion conscious.' LOUISE •VIVIAN GLOVER DAVIS is also noted for wearing becoming colors. Broad cloth, seersucker, thin muslin, organdy, and tex- tured tweeds are among this group. Gingham, linen, nylon, and silk shantung are other fine materials. Tiny prints, flowers, and designs find their way to give the clear, breasy look of spring time to the solid color^ surfaaes of these maiierials. Bailey. N. 'C.
