Whst's In A Ncime?
Can a mother upon looking
at her baby know instinc
tively that a certain
name just fits her child's
personality?
We could all name one or
two people whose names
would justify answering
"yes". Take the ’ name
Ilartha, Susan, or Rebecca.
Either name brings visions
of a quaint-old-fashion-
grandmother type. But when
a modern teen-ager bears
either name, we find our
selves confronted with the
quarry—"V/hat's In a Name?"
Here in high-school are
six Betty Lous. Everyone
of them has an entirely
different personality. If
there is any one predomi
nant, common trait about
them, it is that most of
them have small physiques.
From the sophomore class
comes Betty Lou Golf, an
unusually tall, good-na
tured blonde with a smile
for everyone and a fond
ness for talking.
In the junior class is
another blonde, Betty Lou
Brown, who is of medium
size, not too quiet, pos
sesses a wonderful person
ality, and is very active
in her class work.
Our next Betty Lous are
red heads. Betty Lou Joy
ner is a meek, timid red
head that doesn't have
very much to say. In con
trast is none other than
Betty Lou Stallings, a
frisky, little red-head
■viho likes to talk.
Evidently it isn't the
oolor of the hair that de-
n ites the name. So far we
h- e had blondes and red
heads and now we have
Betty Lou Jones, a bru
nette, meek and timid and
desperately trying always
to do her work well.
From the senior class
comes Betty Lou Glover, a
blonde, athletic-ts^pe,
very'friendly, but not too
studious.
Here then are six girls,
all v/ith the same nam.e.
By just looking at them
you'd never guess it.
Again we ask, "^''Tiat's In

a name?" In answer we are
reminded of Robert Bums's
philosophy, "A rose by.any
other name would smell as
sweet,"
