District Rally Thirteen members of the local FHA chapter attended the District IV Rally in The Fuquay Springs High School, Saturday,October10. Wliile FHA delegates re*^ gistered, music was played by the Fuquay High band. After a short business session the candidates for state song leader were in troduced. Campaigning re sulted in the election of Sarah Easom from the Frank- linton Chapter as State Song Leader. A fashion show was pre sented by Balk’s stores of Fuquay and Wendell, Cnopter Adds Freezer Tlirough money made in the FHA chapter, the local home economics department has added a 7 cu. ft. home freezer to its equipment. The freezer ■ will be re placed with a new model every year for five years, the last one to remain in the department. The freezer was used by the n.dult class when Miss Lane Siler, home economist with Carolina Power and Light Company, demonstrat ed packaging of foods for freezing. Closs Visitspew Homes Third year home economics girls, in connection with the housing unit, visited the Linville's new lin- stone home in Wilson dur ing their open house on Monday, October 12, After studying the ar rangement and decorationcC this house, the class visited another modern home, owned by I'lr. and Mrs, Troy Malpass, built on a smaller income. VISITOR DEMONSTRATES CARE OF SKIN Since the first year home economics girls have been studying a unit on grooming,Miss Sarah Fields of Raleigh gave a de monstration on skin care last week in the home eco nomics room. She showed the members of the class the daily care of the skin to make them have a better complexion. Attendance at church, giving a red rose, the FHA flower, to the teachers in school are among the acti vities that will be en gaged in to acquaint the community with the work of the Future Homemakers of Americju DEPT.
