Upper Clossnion Attend StQte College Ooy Participating in the varied program of ovents presented at North Caro lina State College last Saturday for high school Jimior and senior boys and thair parents from the en tire State wore a number of boys from Bailey, Chancellor Carey H, Bos- tian invited the high school juniors and seniors and their parents to be the guests of the college during the day-long obser vance, which had been des ignated as "North Carolina State College Day." The visitors were guests of thu college at the Da vidson, N. C. State basket ball game, HIGHLIGHTS Highlights of the after noon program were tours of the Schools of Agriculture, Design, Education Engineer ing, Forestry, and Tex tiles, and informal talks by college representatives on the work of the institu tion and its allied divi sions, VISITORS GIVEN ASSISTANCE Accompanying the visiting high school students and thoir parents on the tours wore professors, other staff members, and State College students, who were on hand throughout the day to assist the visitors whenever possible. Practice teachers; Dean and Byrd of the Bailey Agricultural department, accompanied the boys to the college. Boss Wells joined them in the after noon. Attention, girls and boys of Bailey High! We bring again this month "What’s in a Name?" This time it's a small sketch of cach of the presidents guiding the high school classes. Senior president, JERRY PERRY, has a name whoso very pronunciation be speaks his usually quiet, mannerly ways and helpfiil attitude in the community and at school, MARSHALL filOH, junior president, is leading the junior class High through a tough year* As a High he has set high ambitions for his class* Sophomore B president JOAN BRAI'^NON, "brans nun" to do her job but tackles it wholeheartedly, be it guiding the class, prepar ing class work, or playing basketball, Evidently the name. Me KEEL bespeaks leadership and likeableness as the presi dents of sophomore A and freshmen A are LICILLE and FAYE respectively. JiMES WELLS^ freshman B president, by his constant joking wells up howls of laughter from his hearers. Deep vraters may rim smooth, but in his case they bub- le. flag Raising student members of the Boy Scouts arc to be given credit for raising the flag at the top of the school biiilding and taking it in every afternoon. Carolyn Finch Honor Roll Students in high school making honor roll for the second six-weeks grading period were: GRiJDE 10 B Elsie Rae Eatmon GRiiDE 9 A Lane Farmer Mary Ella Glover Audrey Joyner Louise Wells Peggy Braswell Except for absences Chris tine Fowler, senior, Wil- listine Cooley and Joan Brannon, sophomores, made honor roll. Rayford Perry, senior, Billie Faye Perry, junior, and Barbara Lou Batts, freshman, had honor roll grades except for conduct.
