The Educational Policies Commission of the National Education associ ation says, that youth has ten imperative needs in the educational field. It is the duty «f the school eatiefy these needs both by direct teaching and by example. The Ten Imperative Needs of Youth are: 1. To develop saleable skills and those under standings and attitudes that make the worker an intelligent and productive member of society, 2. To develop and main tain good health and phys ical fitness and mental health, The student has a responsibility here to do the things he knows best for him. He should eat properly, get the needed sleep and rest, and re frain from the use of harm ful drugs, 3. To understand the ri.»hts and duties of the citizen of a democratic society, and to perform their duties as members of the community and citizens of the state and nation. il. To understand the sig nificance of the family and the conditions neces sary for successful family life. 5, To know how to pur chase and use goods and services intelligently, 6, To understand the meth ods of science, the in fluence of science on man, and the main scientific facts about the nature of the world and of man. 7« To have an opportunity to develop thuir capac ities to appreciate beauty, in literature, art, music, and nature, 8. To be able to use their leisui'e tirae well and to budget it wisely, doing the things that are satisfying to the indivi dual and useful to society, 9. To develop respect for other persons, to grow in their insight into ethi cal values and principles, to bo able to live and work CO-operatively with others, and to grow in moral and spiritual values, 10. To grow in their abil ity to think rationally, to express their thoughts clearly, and to read and listen with understanding. Your school is striving to meet these needs of youth.
