New York by cars, will be the journalism class on the morning of Inarch ^ to atteftd the Press Conven tion at Columbia Univer sity. Tl-ie itinerary of ithe joul’- ney .calls for the first stop ’ to be Mount Vernon. That night the staff will stay at the Ebbitt Hotel in Washington and make a tour 'of the city and its highlights. Leaving the next morning, the students will head for their last stop, Mew York. In New York, Tiiae Square Hotel will serve as their home for the week, ENTERTAINMENT The first night, March 10, the group will see the play, "The King and I," based on the book ANiiA Al^lD THE KING OF SIAM, Immediately after break fast on March 11 a four- hour lecture tour of the city, upper and lower, will be taken. The Convention opens at 1:30 that afternoon, 'ic- cording to The School Press Review, "there will be offered a series of more than 1$0 meetings, conferences, and discus sions during a three-day period for student editors and faculty advisers of newspaper, . magazines, and yearbooks, .designed to meet the needs of the stu dent press." Paired off,, the students will attend as many of these sectional meetings and clinics as possible to learn of new ways to improve their paper and also hear the crlticlKtr roaiie- about t.heir • • i r Two of the breaks from - concentrated work will be the pictures made of all students and tea served to the advisers by the col lege, Thursday evening' s eixter- tainment is the musical comedy, WONDERFUL TOWN, starring Rosalind Ftussell; Friday evening’s, "the only Cinerama," Early Saturday morning, if the Bugle has been crit icized, a visit to the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State or a compara ble building will be made. At noon in the Grand Ball room at Waldorf Astoria Hotel will be staged a ban quet honoring all students. With part of Saturday afternoon free the group will be taken down town to see the stores, and shop if they wish.
