Even though we drive as carefully as we know how, sometimes there are accidents. In school as in driving let us do the very best that we can in obey ing the rules, "Rules make it possible for us to know what we can expcct from the other fellow." They keep us from stepping on his toes and keep him from stepping on ours. In a democracy there are rules for us to follow. Be fore long the high school students will be voting,. Already in school you arc voting and learning the importance of voting wise ly. In a democracy, we learn responsibility as we enjoy privileges, What arc some of the responsibili ties in a democracy? They are— 1, Keeping informed^ Learn the rules in order that you may obey them. Learn youi* schedule of activities in order that you may participate wisely. Know when tests are to be given, when papers are due, when book reports are to be in, and this will help you to get better grades in yotir work, 2, Accepting majority rule. When more than half of a group want something, go along iTith the majority when nothing of morals or right or wrong is involved, 3, Being tolerant ' of others. It could just be V0 are wrong. The othor fellow must have the privi lege of his opinion. Let us not get the idea that all who disagree with us are wrong. Protecting school pro perty, "School property be longs to you. If the desks, books, tables, chairs, vjalls, and athletic equip ment are in good condition, it is because thoso who have used them previoxisly have taken pood care of theiii."
