WEEK OCTOBER 31 NOVEMBER 6 Belk Representatives Talk ToC lass F.H.A^ O rganize New Type Of Meet ing Reorganization of the FHA has resulted, in a new type of meeting. This year each class is a unit in the FHA, meeting every other Wednes day. These small meetings are composed of the home econo mics class of that period amd the girls that are on study hall. Each unit has its own officers carrying the meeting out as though it were a,regular large FHA meeting. Once each month, on the second Thursday night, the whole FHA meets together in the Home Economics building. CluhAdds Finances In order to make money for the treasury for the purpose of purchasing a new swinging-needle sewing machine for the department, volunteer members of the FHA picked cotton for two consecutive Saturdays, Around ten o'clock the cotton-pickers had Pepsies, For lunch they had an out door weinner roast. On the first Satui-day the HIA cloarod ■>21,60, As an introduction to their clothing unit the second year home economics girls were shoi-m fabrics and dresses by the manager of Belk Tylers and his assistant. Herbert Jeffries Jr. and Mrs. Nannie Taylor came over from Belk Tylers in v^ilson and talked to the group about fabrics and brought dresses made from each to show how dresses could be designed from them. True politeness is per fect ease and freedom. It simply consists in treat ing others as you love to be treated yourself. FranklintonScene Of District Meeting On October 9 the District Four Rally will convene in Franklinton, This district is composed of 12 counties. Prior to the opening of school, Jane Burgess and Louise Wells attended a meeting for the District Rally, Bailey expects to have a large number present.
