It is generally agreed that Charles Rhodes, be cause of his playing and ^ teamwork, was the best player for the juniors. The senior girls won over the sophomore girls 66 to 30. Annette Davis played well for the sophomores and Paula Horner and Judy Lajnm for the seniors. The senior boys' victory over the ' freshmen boys, 69-31j came as no surprise, but the freshmen did ”sur~ prisingly well," especial ly JimirQT Dew and Jeff Den ton, For the seniors, New ton Glover was the best player, Thomas McKeel play ed and jumped well. The junior girls walloped the freshmen girls 62-25. Roselyn Turnage proved to be a good guard for the freshmen, Joan Brannon and Nelda Mae High were out standing among the juniors. Outstanding players men tioned above were named by the coach. 'Capping the class tourna ments this year were the senior girls and the jun ior boys with a victory of 62.-UI and 38-36 respective ly over the runner ups, junior girls and senior boys. The senior girls walloped the junior girls in their 62-Itl victory, "The guards, Shirley Wil liams, Paula Horner, and Sue Bunn, played well,"ex pressed coach V7, H, ' West- all, Janice Edwards was high- scorer with a total of 23 points. Billie Faye Perry racked up 21 points, Judy Lamm, 12 points, and Caro lyn Finch, 6, Joan Brannon, for the jun iors, made 36 points out of the total of Ul. BOYS' G/J>1E The junior boys defeated the senior boys 38-36 in a close game. Coach Westall thinks that the difference was possi bly the defense of the jun ior boys. They played a man zone, 2 men playing out and 2. under the basket, with one man to guard New ton Glover, recognized as the seniors' "best player" of the evening.
