P.T.A.ToWork For Added Ployground, BeoutificotionThisYear As its project for the year the PTA will be work ing toward increasing the size of the school ground and beautifying the front grounds, provided a clear title to needed land can be acquired. If the clear ed titles are obtained, the money from the Hallo ween Carnival will be used as a means of carrying out the project of the Asspcia- tion. Mrs. T, J« Easterling, past president of the NCPTA for the last three years, was the speaker this month at the first PTA meeting of the year. In her talk she reviewed the work of the local, state, and national PTA and made recommendations for improving local organi zations . MOTIONS At this meeting tow mo tions were presented by Principal Weaver and voted upon affirmatively by the Association. They were, first, to give support to the action that is neces sary to clear the title to the land needed for the en largement of the school ground, and, 'second, to re quest that there be no smaking in the gymnasium at basketball games. He asked for passage of this last motion as a measure of safety for the players. and property.
