C., 102 of these are Bailey High School girls,This means that each of these is a member of the local FHA chapter and should con sider it an honor to be a member of such an organiza tion. The distinguishing colors of the Future Homemakers are red and white. These colors are symbolic of youth—^youth which has courage and determination to succeed, yet has inno cence and purity. It is also symbolic of home life, the sucaess of which is of utmost irrportance, OFFICIAL FLOWER The red rose is the offi cial flower of Future Home makers, It is symbolic of vibrant glowing health, which contributes to happi ness and efficiency in home and group life, "Toward New Horizons," the motto of F. H, A,, ex presses the purpose of the organization—learning to live better today in order that our lives and those of our families may be bet ter tomorrow. The purposes of Future -lomemakers are to promote; L, the appreciation, the joy, and the satisfaction of homemakingj 2, worthy home membership^ 3* democ racy in home and community lifej hi good home and family life for allj 5. in~ ternational good willj 6, development of creative leadership in home and community life; ?• whole some individual and group recreation^ 8, interest in home economics.
