OCTOBER. 19^U THE SUCCESSFUL FARMER OF TOMORROW IS THE FUTURE FARMER OF TODAY Boys BeqinWork On Cedar Chests Materials for making cedar chests have arrived and 19 boys have begun work on the chests. These boys are Raymond Boykin, Mac Joyner, J«A. Griffin, L. B. Adams Wesley Medlin, Douglas Brown, Bobby R, Eatmon, Ray . eele, Douglas Honeycutt, Tommy Gay, Carrol Bottoms, Mack Eatmon, Dale ¥ells, Robert Whitley, Charles R. Perry, J. P. Lamm, A. ’T. Pitts, Harold Davis, and Marshall High. Marshall is also working on a cedar wardrobe, Edwin Finch has as his project a coffee tablej Jimmy Bennett, a kitchen cabinet. Boys Attend St. Fair Boss Wells and the FFA boys were present at the State Fair the second day of the Fair week. As usual almost every boy in high school went. The FFA boys visited the livestock exhibits. Some of them attended the livestock contests, while others went to see the school exhibits, but most of them were in the midway all day. Chapter Welcomes New Members Twenty-five freshman be came active members of the Bailey Chapter of FFA this month when they were initi ated and given their Green- hand pens and cards. h hot dog supper followed the meeting at the agricul tural building . The boys initiated were Mitchell Beard, J, R, Bissette, Glover Bray, Jimny Dew, James Earp, Bob by Howell, Jimmy Joyner, Ervin Lucas, Thomas Lucas, Charles Patterson, Alan Phillips, Ervin Vaughn, Larry Vick, William Watson, Elton Bass, A. J, Brantley, Tony Bunn, J. W, Carroll, Jeff Deiiton, Jimmy Glover, Randal Hin ton, Rex Lewis, Adrian Mit chell, William Page, Cene Pearson, Tommy Stallings, Curtis Thigpen, Verlon Vfcitley, Lewis Williams, and William Issette, William a tenth grader was not initiated last year, Ervin Vaughn, Glover Bray, Bobby Howell, Thomas Mur ray, and William Page did not receive their pens and cards because they haven't recited the FFA creed.
