This study will include both silent and oral reading, followed by class discussions of the story and the author's style of writing. Writing themes and character sket ches and the drawing of maps of Raveloe will accom pany the study of Silas Marner. With the "dreaded" mid term exams over, the Unit ed States History class will begin a thorough study of the Civil V/ar, the teacher points out, in cluding the factors lead ing up to the war as well as the result and effects of the war on both the North and South. To accom pany this study will be map studies, oral reports, and class discussions.
