A. iJeek Rudd Discusses Nevv' Farm Program Rudd, who lis- ■ ■■Cron the Rocky Mount Social Securi ty Office, gave a talk this month to the local ag ricultural departnent about the new social secu rity program for farmers. This program is compul sory for farmers and any laborer who is paid as much as $100 a year. Further information con cerning the new program will be mailed to all farm ers in February. Boys Read MQiiyMogazines All the nationally known magazines are subscribed for by the local agricul tural department. The purposes of these magazines are to keep the farm boys up-to-date on all the new and important farm news, to cncourage the FFA students to read more, and to furnish the farmers who use the shop with all the important news. These magazines are the cheapest source of farm news for the fanners in this neighborhood, Super visor Wells states. Ag. Boys Work On Progrom Different jobs are being undertaken in the agricul tural department. These jobs, or projects as they are sometimes called, are for use in the students' homes, and, as Wells, the advisor states, also help the student's grade. Cedar chests are being made by Henry Brantley, Wesley Medlin, . Raymond Boykin, J. A. Griffin, Jimmy Bennett, Ray Peele, and L, B, Adams. Marshall High is working on a cedar wardrobej I4arion Warren, a grill to a hot rod; Dale Wells, a bookcase; A, W. Pitts, a hog feeder; Edwin Finch, a kitchen cabinet; Robert FEBRUARY 21-26 AG, BCYS MAKE SPEECHES Senior, juniors, . and sciphomore boys who are tak ing agriculture made speeches for part of their mid-term grade.
