Visiting With The Elementory Grodcs- Page 19 Sonja Manning Snows and the enrolling of new students have com peted for highest interest in the grammar grades this rr.onth, STUDENTS Bruce Perry, Steve Pitt man, Jessie Brantley, Mil ton Whitley, iTorothy Pat terson, Dianne Stott, Jean Taylor, Joseph Perry, Nor man Bryant, Ann Taylor, Dewayne Taylor, Faye Bry ant, Nancy Burnette, and Otelia (Tillie) Taylor are the students who have en rolled since Christmas. A hearty welcome to each; we are glad to have you, STUDIES Safety programs and birds are being st.udied by Mrs, Florabelle Bynum's first and second grade, "Just Imagine," supple mentary reading books, have captured the interest of Mrs, Rachel Paschall's fourth grade^j_ Have you seen an Eskimo village? If not, visit I'lrs. Olivia Barnes• second and third grade; they have a minature copy of one. To make us feel very much at home, all we have to do is drop in Mrs. Effie Hag- wood 's first grade and take a look at a model farm. It may be winter in Bailey, but Mrs. Rudolph Glover's second grade has been transported to "Summer In The Mountains." The class is painting a frieze portraying the moun tains and the characters they are reading about in this unit. Health booklets are being made by Mrs, J. P. Under wood's sixth grade, show ing the main parts of the body. Vocabulary building is an outcome of reading books by Miss Glee Eatmon's third grade. Naturally, since this is the month of February, their drawings and their play activities are centering around Wash ington, Lincoln, and Valen tines, T. C. May's fifth and sixth and Mrs, R, G, L, Edwards' eighth grade. SERVINGS lifhile Mrs, May’s and Mrs, Underwood's rooms were having snow cream, Mrs, Glover's room was being re warded for winning the PTA Banner, They had dough nuts and chocolate fudge. KING QUEEN Carrol Janet Miss Rachel Bissette's seventh grade had a Valen tine King and Queen, The Queen contestants were Janet Weaver, Peggy Eatmon, and Ida Jean Williams, while the King contestants were Jerry Bissette, Brady Bailey, and Carroll Ferrell, The contest ended February 11. PROGRAI'IS Two rooms have been busy this month practicing PTA and chapel programs, Mrs, Why Not VISIT DREXEL'S SEWING ROOM?
