BAILEY BUGLE. BAILEY. NORTH CAROLINA. APRIL 19^6 Persondlities Around The School ^ Page 19 By Barbgra Boykin Journeying down the halls of BHS during a lunch hour or between class periods, one becomes aware of many varied personalities. As we enter the building at the east end, we first encoujiter a group of gay sophomore girls, all dress ed nearly alike, chatter ing happily as they clam- mer to get a book and beat the bell to their next class. The "mis-matchcd" couple we’ll probable meet before we reach the far end of the hall is Buck Brown and Harry Finch, the "Mutt and Jeff" of our dear old Alma Mater, Buck, standing and Harrj’', only 5'1", are an inseparable pair. On down the hall we pass another group of chatter ing girls. This group is made up of .juniors and seniors. Among them is Nelda High, the "blondest" blonde in high school. During our tour we'll probably meet some of our new students: June Messer, hailing from Hillsboro, and Kenneth Bryant, trans ferring from Middlesex, ere freshmen. Betty Brant ley, a junior, crmo from Middlesex too. We still haven’t bocomo G''customed to not seeing some of the once-familiar fpcGS. Having moved or quit, several of our friends are missing— Geraldine Thorne, ' Janie Whitley, Rex Lewis, Rose Brown, ¥. L. Eatmon, and Doris Joyner, freshmen; Louise Bunn, Thomas Murray, Josephinn. T,amm, and Jimmy Joyner, sophoiaoi-oR; and Mac Bowen, Mack Eatmon, Christine Perry, and Violet Cooley, juniors. Our disappointment over not seeing them is some what relieved by our joy in welcoming some old stu dents back. Hilda Boykin, freshman, tried Corinth Holder, for a year, and Fannie O'Neal, another ■froshmah, went to Rock Ridge for a month but de cided she liked Bailey better. The group of boys v;e' 11 meet shortly are seniors. Teasing someone or shout ing forth a smart remark is certainly a character istic of them. Here comes the only red headed boy in high school, Charles Williams, The Lore Wolf has plenty of company araong the girls, for there are nine red-hcaded girls. They arc Katherine Whitlcyy Sonja Manning, Arlene Jor dan, Jane Earp (Janc pre fers to be called p straw berry blond), Shirley Williams, June Vick, Edith Willifims, and Elaine Edwards. Our boys contribute much to the parade of- gay colors in the hall with their bright shirts, sweaters, and, in some crses, bright pants. And so on down the hall— more faces, more smiles, more personalities, more friends, more reasons why we all love BHS Vj SERVICE TO ALL M/UvES OF Ri'.DIC AI® T. V. phone 311^6 BAILEY RADIO AND T.V.
