Horton, hovo been engaged in many "interesting and worth while activities," all members agree. Led by officers Barbara Boykin, president; Sonja Manning, vice president; Keith V. Glover, secrotary; Elsie Eatmon, treasurer; Almeta Brown, parliamen tarian; Gwen Burgess and Christy Finch, song lead ers; Sue Weaver, historian; and Louise Wells, report er, the club has been con ducting biweekly programs appealing to all girls. . RALLIES Thirty-two Bailey girls attended the District IV rally at Durham on October 15. Assigned the devotion for this rally, the group presented "Builders of Homes." Eighty-eight girls attend ed the Bi-County rally at Louisburg, March 6. Sever al Briley girls fumishod the entertainment for the meeting. By a majority vote^ Barbara Boykin, president, was chosen to lead the bi-county meet ings during the coming year. FINANCES As a means of increasing finances, the club has sponsored, in the cafete ria, two dances, A Harvest Hop on November 23 and a Valentine dance on Febru ary’' 8. BANQUET The annual Mother-Daugh ter banquet was staged on Iferch 9 in the school cafe teria, Served by the 8th grade girls, thd meal con sisted of barbecue chicken, potato salad, lima beans, vegetable salad, rolls, apple pie and tea. FINER BAILEY PROJECT Under the direction of Mrs, Horton, the FHAors have begun work on beauti fying the home economias building and surrounding grounds as their project in the Finer Carolina con- As a "thank-you" for the ever-ready helping hands offered the club this year by the FFA boys,the second year girls served as wait resses at the Father~Son banquet, February 21, ACTING AS HOSTESS Helping Bailey play host ess to the more than 200 teachors gathered here on Octobcr 27, some of the girls presented "The Lord's prayer.” INITIATION On November 3 the club initiated all new members. That morning as one enter ed the school building, he, was mot by laughing and em barrassed oddly-dressed girls. At 7:30 that night, all members gathered in the homo economics depart ment for a wiener roast, origin.'illj^ planned for the outside but called in be cause of rain, STUDENT TEACHERS Six ECC students—-Sue Barbour, Mary Lou Stewart, Helen Wilson, Jackie Fore hand, Agness Mangum,md Dorothy Gooch h^ve done their practice teaching here this year. FAIR DAY, October 21, looked forvrard to from one year to the next by all the girls, found 60 girls boarding a chartered bus bound for Raleigh and the State Fair.
