Weaver when called upon at this PTA to give the main objec tive of the school year. Pointing out that Nash County rates lower than the national average in scholastic achievement and that tests given in the ninth and twelfth years at Bailey reveal that Bailey, students are not as well prepared as seniors as they are as freshmen, Vfeaver declared that im proved instruction would be emphasized from the first through the twelfth year, PTA PROGRAM Mrs, Rudolph Glover, act ing as program chairman for the evening, presented the topic "Our Investment- Parents and Teachers as Partners," Mrs, John Burgess opened the program by leading the group in singing AMIRICA, "Working Together", the theme for the devotions, was discussed by Lewis Watson. Then followed the introduction of the new teachers and board members by the principal, and of the PTA officers and com mittee chairmen by the president, Mrs, Raymond Finch. OBJECTIVES After Weaver’s discussion of the school’s objective, Mrs. Finch read the aims, the objectives, and the membership regulations of the PTA, Finance chairman, Mrs, Moody Glover, reported that the methods and pro cedures of raising fimds at Halloween last year would again be followed this fall and that the funds in part or whole would go for purchasing teaching equipment.
