"Qnphatically and spirit edly" he stressed putting "first things first" and insisted that no student should expect "special pri vileges." All regulations were ex plained by Principal Wea ver, Later he gave each teacher, class officer, and individual student a chance to ask questions or add any comments. When questioned, some of the teachcrs agreed that it was a "very inspiring ard democratic v;ay‘ of thrash ing out problems." They seemed to think it was a "timely meeting" but should have been stressed six weeks earlier, John Wells, agriculture BUGLE Earns Plaque "Excellenco of production and writing" won for the BUGLE a plaque at East Carolina College Press In stitute this month. Approximately 1^0 staff members of newspapers and yearbooks in high schools of Eastern North Carolina attended the meeting. The school is to receive the plaque for the best mimeographed paper at a presentation in the school auditorium, PEGGY BHASi-'ELL, editor of the BUGLE, B^.RR'IRA BOTKIN, and KEITH GLOVER, staff members,represented Bailey High School at the meeting. tcachor, voiced his opin ion by saying, "If it was not for five per-cent of the students, there would not be a need for such a meeting." Principal Weaver ended the assembly by saying, "We sand paper a cedar chest to smooth off its rough edges, Vftiy don’t we tiy sanding off our own rough edges?” "Come out tonight and cel ebrate the fvin of Hallow een by enjoying the pro gram, dancing, carnival, and other activities," urges Mrs, Moody Glover, chairman of the PTA fi nance committee. The program will begin at 7i30 in the auditorium. Admission for adults will be ^Jl.OO and for students through the 12th grade 25^, Twelve teachers and their grademothers are in charge of a three-to-four minute skit on the month assigned. ACTIVITIES Mrs. Moody Glover and Ifrs. John McKeel will be in charge of the cakc walks in the auditorium, gymna sium, and the cafeteria.
