, ' 'k ' ^edson's \Jreetings Students Nome Teocher Of The Week MLss Edith Farmer was vot ed teacher of the week this month by high school students, reports Louise Wells, who wrote the arti- cle for the "Evening Tele- ^ gram" in Rocky Mount, According to Louise, W, G, Edwards placed a close sec ond, and all teachers were "Cheaper By The Dozen," the senior play presented last week, proved a finan cial success for the class and an entertaining suc cess for the public, di rector and audience agree. Ticket sales amounted to $196,l|0, "This money will be used by the class to purchase a gift for the school and depray commence ment expenses," says Mrs, L, T. Lassiter, senior sponsor. Comments heard from peo- f I' pie present were "I got j/ a bigger kick from it than k ' I’ve ever had from a school play," businessmanj "The play was good and the acting was extra good," teacher; "I thoroughly en joyed it," parent5 and "It was good and the seniors did an exceptiooal job of presenting it," student. I well represented by votes, "The students were very co-operative,"according to Louisej "but," she points out, "some students still can not take a request seriouslyj one voted for a comedian and two voted for the "Goat-man," BAILEY STAGES tsrCHISTMAS PARADE Bailey will have its first Christmas parade here Thursday, December 20, at h P. M. The Bailey band will lead the procession, followed by Miss Bailey riding in a decorated convertible. Next will come the floats. Boy Scout Troops from Bailey, Middlesex, and Mt, Pleasant, a pony caravan, and Santa Glaus, Bands from two other schools have been invited, but at the present their coming is not definite. The parade, sponsored by the merchants of Bailey, will start from the school, go by Smith's Plumbing Shop, turn right at the bank, and proceed down tfein Street to Highway ^81, BHS Striving For Added Teocher Achieving in high school an average of 93% for the first three months of school gives Bailey High "a hope" for a needed teacher next yearj however, in order to obtain this teacher 200 students must be present daily, the prin cipal reminds everyone. The high school acquired the average of 9h% for Sep tember and October, and 91$ for November, The girls are leading with 93-90% attendance in com parison with the boys. Principal V/eaver reports that work causes most of the absences, ABSENCES For September and October 205 students were present daily, and in November 202, If more than 18 students are absent daily the school will not gain the teacher. The first through the sixth or the second through the seventh months will be the period deter mining whether the teacher is gained.
