EAILEY BUGLE. BAILEY. NORTH CAROLINA. DECEMBER, 19^6 PAGE h THE BUGLE'S RECIPE FOR A- Stuclents Oftefi Block Schools Purpose ix with love at without overin dulging emember others There are a few Bailey students who are fooling themselves into thinking that they are clever by skip ping school. Why should they be in school? They would accomplish more at school; besides, this absence is an unexcused one. One day’s absence really means two days of nonpre paration and low grades* Most important, such students develop habits that will not be tolerated on a job. The purpose of school is to train young people for their step into the future and to help them build habits and attitudes that will be an asset in later life, but the school cannot accomplish its goal when a student is not present. adiata happiness earn for its true meaning c H R ultivate a Christlike be havior elp at home eread the "First Christ mas" nvite others in I S T M A s pread its truth op with kind ness ultiply its significance ct less self ishly ing the Christ mas songs What Are The Answers To Failing Grades Champions in extracurricular activities, yet fail ures in school subjects. That is the picture of many Bailey students as reported on page l8, VJhy? Is it indifference on the part of the student? Is it lack of inspiration from parents? Is it the result of uninteresting classes? Not altogether, for in many cases some of the best students are failing, while students of the same or less ability, sitting on the same class, are making average grades. Again why? Do the failing students work so hard at outside activities that upon reaching class they relax and fail to give the attention due? Are they putting out enough effort to produce the results they think they de serve? Is failing to budget their time a reason? WHAT ARE THE ANSWERS? The time has come for many students to decide what the correct answer is before it is too late. BAILEY BUGLE • Volume U Bailey, N^.C^,, December, 1956 .
