JANUARY. 19^7 Enrollment Drops For Second Semester As the first semester of school ended, ten students had been subtracted from the 220 enrolled at Bailey School, leaving a total en rollment of 210 in high school. Of the ten students lost, six are still attending school at other towns; three have stopped school; and one has married. Those moving to other schools are Betty Jean Brantley, senior, attend ing Middlosexj J, R, Bis- sette, junior, Zcbulon; Dallas Glover, junior, Bcnvonuej George and Jfeie Lewis, sophomoro and fresh man, Four Oaks High School; and Betty Hedlin, freshman, Nashville. Brantley, junior. 1957 SENIORS PROMOTE SANDING OF STAGE FLOOR Through the influcncc of the senior class and its sponsor, Mrs. L, T, Lassi ter, the county agreed to sand, varnish, and polish the stage floor, sincc the group is planning to leave a cyclorama for the stage as a memorial gift. It vjas the belief of the class and the county that by finishing the floor the cyclorama would be kept cleaner, have a longer life, and the cleaning would encourage the stu dents "to take better care of the curtain." Weaver, princi pal, in answer to the question, "VJhere will the new maps be used?" Adhering to the proposal of the PTi* Finance Coriiri.it- tce that the funds raised at the annual Halloween Carnival be used to pur chase needed school room equipment, teachers first asked for maps. Other school materials will be added to the list to be ordered soon. These itmes, however, have not yet been decided upon. Principal Weaver said the maps were to be used to provide a more modern means of teaching, resolution: Start The New Year Right.
