In the three years that these teams have competed for the trophies, Bailey girls,won. three' times and tied twice. Winners of the trophies for foxir times are perma nent possessors of them, WeoverGivesPepTolk Principal M, W. Weaver gave the basketball teams and cheerleaders a pep talk after the arrival of Bailey's new coach, Robert Horne, "There is no need to fall into a slump," he stressed. With your co-operation, the teams should keep go ing forward. You have found from your practices that Horne knows what he is doing," After Weaver’s talk, co captains, cltef>rleaARi*a, This was the day of the first practice with the new coach. Excitement, des olation, anticipation— these emotions and many others were felt by the players. Questions flooded the minds of every team member; What would he be like? Was he friendly? Did he know anything about bas ketball? The whistle blew J Every one headed for the bench. Principal Weaver intro duced each one to the team members^ and Horne were given opportunities to express themselves. POINTS AND SWEEPS "I am very happy at Bailey; I like the stu dents, faculty, and school," states Robert Horne, new coach. "School spirit is always prevalent, and stu dents act as one big, happy family, "The boys’ team is a clean group, playing for the team and not individu al stardom. The girls’ team is also a fine group to work with. Everyone has been very nice and co-oper ative." coach, (Golly, he sure had a friendly and winning smile i) "I don’t want to be your boss," he saidj "I want to be your friend," Sighs escaped, and ex pressions of relief swept over the faces of the team.
