Gramraar grade pupils have also attended school enough to gain an addition al teacher. The first six grarranar teachers are allot ted on a 171 average daily attendance basis, Xirith another teacher for every 30 extra pupils. RELIEF M, W, i/eaver, principal, stated that the supplemen tary teacher in high school would be used to "lighten the load" and "offer more variety in subjects," Junior Order To Give Trophies This Yeor Bailey Junior Order is planning to present at commencement the best all round boy and girl with trophies instead of medals, the awards for the past several years. As in previous years, the Bailey High School faculty will meet and name the boy and girl to receive the trophies, A member of the Order will present the trophies, which are given "to promote better citizen ship in and around the school," Al'JNUAL AFFAIR This fraternal organiza tion would like to "make it an animal presentation," OpenHouse'Success' Decbres Asst. Supt. Fries Open House, staged ear lier this month, was dis cribed by C, H, Fries, Jr., as "an excellent public relations activity,"It was generally accepted as a success in both the evi dence of student work and parent attendance. During the PTA meeting the attendants voted to purchase piano stools for Mrs, Carlton Johnson's music room. Winners of the PTA attend ance banners were Mrs. L.T, Lassiter's seniors in high COMING EVENTS '^arch 29—FHA Banquet ipril h—NCEA Banquet 10—Fashion Show 19—Recital 26—Recital school and i'lrs, T,C. May's fifth graders in elemen tary school. A musical program was given by the Glee Club and the Band under the super vision of i4rs. Helen Murray and Maurice Hilburne, Principal M, W. Weaver gave as his principal com ment, "The crowd was large and the work displayed was very good." 20 SCHOOLS RECIPIENTS OF HONOR Barbara Boykin, senior, and Sue Weaver, junior, represented the BUGLE, which was one of twenty school papers from over 500 in the United States invited to send delegates to the Overseas Press Club, while in New York attend ing the CSPA Convention this month. In his letter, Joseph M, Murphy, director of the CSPA, wrote: "We have taken the liberty of se lecting your school as one of twenty to respond to the invitation," i'ffil'iBERS The membership of this Club includes the most dis tinguished of the foreign correspondents, past and present. A numlaer of these were present to meet and talk with the delegates, RECEPTION The reception took place in the I'lemorial Lounge of the Club, which is dedi cated to the memory of cor respondents who have lost their lives in the course of their press service, Barbara and Sue were two of the staff members, with their advisers, attending the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New York, March 12-16.
