WELLS Students Prepare For Contest Preparations for the Nash Edgecombe Federation Land Judging contest are being made by Bailey FFA stu dents , The contest vdll take place in the Middlesex coirununity on March 27 j at 2 P. M. With the help of the Nash County Soil Conservation Service, Bailey and Middle sex Chapters vd.ll be in charge of the contest. Planters Cotton Oil Com pany is sponsoring the contest. First place win ners will be awarded $25j second place, $20; and third place, $15. Bailey's FFA team won first place in the Feder ation last year and second place honors in the dis trict. The senior FFA boys de feated the junior FFA boys in a cliapter baseball game 2-0. JudqinqContestSet ^ 1 11^ For April 15 The annual Dairy Gattle, Beef Cattle, and Hog Judg ing Contests will take place in the Leggett com munity, April 15. "Some work has been start ed by freshmen and sopho mores", states adviser John H. Wells. The hog and beef cattle team will be taken from this group. The juniors and seniors will compose the dairy team. PAGE 7 FFAMEMBERSHONO^ FATHERS-AT BANQUET Approximately 130 F. F. A, members, fathers, and other guests attended the annual Pather-Son Banquet at the school csfoteria this month, A tour of the shop was taken before the banquet started, giving the fa thers and other guests an idea of the work the agri culture students were do ing. A film entitled "Tobacco Insect Control" was the highlight of the program. The senior girls served the menu that consisted of barbeque, brunswick stew, potat/jes, slaw, bread, coffee, and pepsi colas. Special emphasizes is placed on selection of breeding stock.
