They particularly wonder about college. This decision and ?i“fect a person's entire life and, the life'of our coimtrj'-. Todays world is siuch more complicated than the world of our parents. Each .hour spent in school will better enable us to cope vri.th today’s complexity. With the stress on world prestige, as it is today, i;e mixst strive for education of our youth, Vfe must strive for .achievement and supremacy in our schools. Many of today’s youths I’llll be tomoi'roxj’s leaders. It is our duty to our country/ as i\mericar.s, to be a good leader, A good leader must have a good education. If our nation is to remain on at the top, as it is today, education of all its citizens, both leaders and followers, is vital. To bo a good American, worth of our heritage, is a life long job, VJe cannot vjait, we must begin today to work ai\d to study, to take advaritagc of the educa tional opportunities offered us. STUDENTS ENTER CONTEST On March 1^, eight BHS Typing I students entered the Nash County TypingCon- test. The contest, sponsor ed by East Carolina Col lege, liras held at Benvenue High School, Bailey students entering the Typing I contest x^rere: Mary Lib Glover, Nancy Brannan, Linda Brantley, Maxine Liles, Billy Car roll, Elizabeth Lamm, Jane Patterson, and Judy Barnes. Entering the Typing II contest were /inn Skinner, Harold Patterson, and Bob Privette, Mary Lib Glover placed , first in the count;,’-, while L'ijida, Brantley placed se cond and Nancy Brj?jinan came in fifth. Schools from all of the counties in the Eastern and North Eastern NCE/i dis- •trict wore invited- to enter. Run-offs x-;ere held in each county and the win ners were eligible to com pete in the finals held , at ECC on April 20,. ■ Bailey High is proud .to have a new edition of the Encylopodia Americana ad ded to the high school library. This is the first set , of new /unericanas since 19U6, To aid the Guidanco Coun selor, Miss Oglesby, a New Guidance Pile has been established. In it infor mation on hundreds of job possibilities are listed. The Seniors of sixty-one Have had a lot of fun. But nov7 its tii'-ie to go ;»rid we thought you’d like to know.
