The Pro'pram of Work for the year was planned. The pro^om for this year Is as follows: parliamentary Procedure Contest aad Public S^>eak« Ing Contest to be at'South KdgBOombe November 9} Shop Contest to be at Dillon SD^pply in Rocky Mount, Feb ruary 8j Land Judging at North Edgecombe, March 8j Dairy Cattle Judging and Beef and Swine Judging to be at the Swift Pliant April 12j the Federation Banquet at Josh Bullock's in Rocky Mount, May 5 with all Federation partici pants invited, illl recogni tions and awards are to be presented at the banquet, PARLI™^T.\RY PROCEDTJRE ANi PUBLIC SP^/iKING A team composed of Jerome /Ick, Frankie Poele, Ron nie Barnes, Billy Lamm, James Eatanon, and Larry Brantley represented the local chapter in this con test at South EdfTOConbe, They ecj’ncd second place with •tlie Coopers Chapter being judged first. This was the best showing a lo cal team has made in this area in several years. They will rocoive a cash award of $20 and a silver plaque for this achieve ment, Mark Thompson represented us in the Public Speaking Contest and won fourth place. In this contest,’ each boy had to prepare his speech and deliver it. There were ten teiiTis in volved in these contests, SHOP GON’EST The Shop Contest was held at Dillon Supply Store as scheduled. This contest is open only to first year boys as it involves things useful in first year Ag, There are some over 200 tools and mjterials which the boys have to be able to identify and correctly spell. Our team was com posed of Ted Deans, Mark Thompson, V/alter Etheridf^e, Joe Cummings, and Phil Uz- zell. These boys took sec ond pl3ce with a score of 295 of a possible 300 points. THE A^'TNUAL FATHER-SON BAN QUET WILL HE HELD ON APRII 15 AT THE CAFETERIA, FFA ACTIVITIES ELECTION OF OFFICERS The members of. the tVX Chapter met at Parkers Bar- beque the night of Septem ber 22 to enjoy a neal and to elect officers. After the supper, John Tuck, Jr,, Immediate past President, presided over the meeting for the election. Contest was held at the i'torth Ed^(iC0Mbe Hir?h School at Le,:5gett on Monday, ■ March 8 at 3:30 p.m. The Bailey team scored second place in the event, bein^ beaten by Nashville by three points. North Edgecombc and Spring Hope finished third and fourth, Ttere were nine chapters represented in the event, Members of our team were: Rudy Strickland, Brooks Bissette, Billy Lamm, and Vannie Whitley. +++
