Page Six Goldsboro Hi News May 14, 1948 First Fishing Trip Recalled by Faye Parnell I’ll never forget my first fish-j ing trip. After hours of untangling ishing lines and digging fish hooks out of my clothes, we finally start ed off. We rode several miles looking for a good place to fish. We search ed all over the Neuse, got lost in the woods, wallowed around ii beds of poison oak and finally de eided to fish near the bridge. After we finally got settled, we sat and waited for Mr. Fish to bite. We waited—and waited and waited. Then all of a sudden my line began to jerk. Well, it was a terrific battle. The fish fought and I fought. Looking back on it, I can say it was the greatest con quest of my life. I now proudly display the first fish I ever caught —a one half pound perch. JOY NOTES U. N.
