Just what Sonny’s topic of discussion was is not known, but from the looks of things, he is really enjoying himself. William Bell’s thoughts are probajbly on the game that was played that night against Wilmington, but who knows? The score of the game, played January 20, was 51-41. Sykes, who is normally a sec ond string forward, replaced Center Hal Bowden soon after the game started and immedi ately went to work running up a total of 19 points — eleven of them free throws. His 19 tallies put him completely ahead of both Harry Lloyd and Sam Nich ols who have been the offensive leaders for the Bulldogs thus far this season. Lloyd scored 11 points and the better known member of the squad, Nichols, scored 10. Louis Hallow got 17 points to lead the Quakes, who outscored the Bulldogs from the floor 17- 12, but their work from the free throw line could not come close to that of the visitors who hit on 27 of 36 attempts from the gratis line.
