theme u^ed by Evangelist Charles
Bray as he spoke at the SA de-
\otion Friday, April 4.
Mr. Bray was accompanied by
Rev. Frank Johnson, pastor of the
Hopewell Baptist Church, where
Mr. Bray was then holding a revi
val. lie is now speaking each
night through April 20 at the
Johnson Homes Community
Church.
The speaker said that there is
now a socialized gospel in Ameri
ca but the need is for a true and
divine goospel of Christ. He said
that youth can be a wonderful
thing or either it can be a trage
dy and that it is up to the youth
to decide which it will be.
Mr. Bray is from Reidsville and
Ls a graduate of Bob Jones Uni
versity.

Ranks Excellent
In State Meet
The Glee Club won four high
honors at Mei’edith college, in
Raleigh recently.
The Women’s chorus sang
“On the Steppe” and “The Snow
Legend.” They received a rating
of excellent. The Men’s Chorus
song “Break Forth O Beauteous
Heavenly Light,” by Bach; Eze
kiel Saw the Whell,” a spiritual

Malpass received superior rat
ing. Emily sang “In the Woods”
by Bezit; Craven song, “Go Down
Moses.”
The Boys Quartet received a
rating of good.
The Glee Club was competing
against towns with class “A”
schools. Among them were Ra
leigh, Durham, and Greensboro.
Some of the schools that re
ceived superior rating sang class
“B” music while our Glee Club,
sang all class “A” music.
It is the first time in the his
tory of GHS that the music de
partment has won any awards.
The music departmment is ex
pecting a large enrollment for
the next years of ’52 and ’53.
The meeting was March 12.
