PAGE TWELVE THE BLACKBIRD, ROCKY MOUNT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL THURSDAY, DECEMBER 13, 19«S Rocky Mount Senior High Featured Or WITN "Teen Canteen" Progrnn Each week on “Teen Canteen”, a popular teen-age progra^i on WITN-TV, Washington, an out standing high sehool in eastern North Carolina is honored dur ing the portion of the proKram known as “High School Spot light”. Rocky Mount Senior Hi School was honored on December 1. Fil^ taken at Senior klgh earlier in the week by host Rick Clark were shown on the pro gram. After Mr. Clark gave a brief history of the school, the tour betran with Homecoming Queen Lee Cuthrell helping Principal C. M. Edson as an office assistant. Other scenes shown were the student lounge in which were seated members of the football team; the patio between the buildings; Miss Van Buskirk, outstanding biology tea cher, Dwight Thomas, editor of THE BLACKBIRD, and Greg Low, Student Organization president, discussing a biology exhibit; Mr. Adkins and the shop; members of the cast of “If A Man Answers”; the library; the modern language lab; and the Distributive Edu cation program and Radio Broad casters CSufe. Mr. Clark eenchided by saving that Rocky Mount Senior High surely met the needs of the in dividual students. On hand, with words of appre ciation for featuring this school, was Bob Chesson, Graduate of Rocky Mount Senior High. Bells Ringing bells in churches, for solemn and glad cere monial occasions, goes back j ^ to about 7 A.D. . In early Britain church bells tolled for an hour on Christmas Eve, announcing to Satan the coming of Christ. Blackbird license plates will be sold by the Student Organization In a few days. Selling for one dollar, the tags wil be sold so that Rocky Mount will be recognized and honored a~ the home of the 4-A champion football The license plates, in school colors, will be so’d to the community through students of Rocky Mount Senior High School. HICKS Agency 132 SUNSET PHONE GI 6-7188 Honor Code, Honor System Discussed By Cabinet In November 27 Meeting Discussing the present honor code and ideas for a new honor code was the main purpose of the President’s Cabinet Meeting on November 27. Tlie members of the Cabinet were interested in the possibility of setting up a special honor system here in which students would share the responsibility with the faculty of curbing cheat ing and maintaining honor,' The Cabinet decided to main tain use of the present honor code uotil the plans for the new system could be worked out with a few phanges in the honor cards. New ^aCrds, however, will be printed for sophomores with space pro vided for the signing of names. The details of the prospec tive honor -code will be released later. The Cabinet .will continue their discussion in another meet ing in the near future. Relative humidity usually la lower in the winter because cold air does not hold water as well as warm air.
