Page 4 THE GRYPHON WEDNESDAY, NOV. 26, 1969 Lennon, Harrison, Starr; Is There A McCartney? Ai Assembly Program Will the real Paul McCart ney please sing out? Rumors, reports, confirmations - call them what you may. Many peo ple believe that Paul McCart ney,' famed singer of the Beatles, is still alive. But an equal number of people believe he Is dead. The following ma terial I offer in view of this. From this, I hope you will be enlightened on the subject. There have been many solid facts integrated into this rumor. It has been reported that many verses in Beatles records ac tually say that "Paul is dead”, «hlch is said in the Beatles Pizza Inn Carry Ont or Eat In 130 COUNTRY CLUB KD. 443-3027 Allow approximately 20 minutes Open MoD^FrL 4-12 Sat. 1M2-Sim. 4-10 Order by phone for faster service record “Rain” when played backwards. Also, many clues are given out on records and on album covers. On their latest album “Abbey Road”, Paul is seen crossing the street bare footed, John is dressed in white, and George in trousers. Ringo is in a black suit. In Great Bri tain, it is traditional to bury the dead barefoot. On the album cover, John is made up to be God, Ringo the undertaker, and George the gravedigger. If you look closely, they are seen leav ing a cemetery. Paul also holds a cigarette in his right hand. The original Paul was left- handed. On the cover of Magi cal Myg'tery Tour, John, Ringo and George are wearing red' roses, while Paul is wearing a black rose. Up to now, you may have ask ed yourself why the Beatles would go to so much trouble, or who laid the groundwork for the hoax. The original plan was created by John. Although Ringo expressed skepticism, the plan was adopted. (Brian Epstein, the manager for the Beatles was informed of the plot, he threatened to expose it all, and mysteriously died, leaving five men who knew the plot). One closing fact. Several voice detector tests have been run on songs sung by Paul Mc Cartney dating back to the early 1960’s, and from the tests so- called a “sound fingerprint” there is reasonable doubt that the same set of vocal chords produced the same voice tones. There are more interesting facts that could fill this whole page. But, I ask you to decide. Do you think Paul McCartney is dead or alive? hristmas A Portrait is a treasured gift and the holiday season is near. Your parents or that special girl or boy would cherish such a gift. Black & White Color KILLEBREW STUDIO 442-3600 — 142 Howard St. Caii Now For An Appointment Red Coats Invade Senior Higti Thursday, November 13, the juniors and seniors of RMSH viewed the program present ed in Philadelphia, Penn., by the Rocky Mount delegation to the All-American Cities Com petition. Patricia Davis, Student Re presentative Assembly vice- president opened the assembly and introduced the members of the delegation who were pre sent. As they stood before the student body, their colorful out fits left a vivid impression. Decked out in red, white and blue. Mayor John T. Minges began the program with a run down of the events which led to this assembly. Several months ago, Rocky Mount sent in an application to the All-American Cities Contest, sponsored jointly by Look Magazine and the Na tional Municipal League. Later, a letter was receiv ed informing the city of Rocky Mount that it had been chosen as one of the 22 finalists for the competition. The city was told to give before the contest jurors a presentation attest ing to the progress and ad- vancement of Rocky Mount in the past 12 months. After weeks of hard work, they journeyed to Philadelphia for the judging on November 10-11. fiicluded in the group were RMSH Senior Donna Arm- strpng. Miss Rocky Mount and several teachers from the school. After Mayor Minges’ intro duction, Mr. Mack B. Pearsall, a local lawyer, described the hectic final presentations for the trip and went into detail as to how the program was to be presented. We were all surprised to hear the theme of Rocky Mount, North Carolina’s Red Carpet City as sung by a top folk singing group and larger group from Norfolk, Va. Then the lights dimmed and the presentation began as Mr. Pearsall narrated. Slides ac companied him, illustrating new industries, job opportunities opening in recent months in our area. He mentioned the fact that over 3,000 new jobs of all types had opened within the past year. All home games will be played in our gym at night, despite the rumors to the con trary. There should be no problem of seating the student body arid the faculty at this assembly. The administration is work ing on a plan whereby each homeroom will be given a spe cial block of seats. If each in dividual follows instructions it should be easy getting in and out of the gym. There is no doubt the students will feel more united, as they will all be toge ther for the first time since the beginning of the new RMSH. Almand’s Discount Rexall Dnig 130 S.
